Keen buyers for cast cows at Carlisle sale

A large entry of 249 cast cows and stock bulls were presented to the usual keen ringside of buyers at Borderway Mart, Carlisle ensuring a flying trade for all classes. Messrs Dodd, West View, sold the top priced Limousin cow selling for 237.5p/kg to Charles Kirkpatrick.

Brian Hall of Ainstable Hall had a run of cows which topped at 237.5p/kg for a British Blue purchased by Les Fell. Messrs Mathers, Beech Bank, also sold a British Blue cow for 236.5p/kg purchased by Charles Kirkpatrick.

Messrs Bland, The Flatt, sold the top priced black and white cow selling for 179.5p/kg and purchased by Shaun McGimpsey. Messrs Beaty, Langhorn Farm sold the top overall priced Holstein cow selling for 151.5p/kg at 900kg, £1363 to Highland Meats.
