Cull stock records set at Bakewell

Market records were set at Bakewell yesterday with new highs seen in both the cull ewe and OTM cattle sections.

In the cull ewes the entry of 580 averaged £86.95, with successive increases in trade culminating with the best yet when a cull ewe from Messrs F A Nairey, Blackburn, made £166, their consignment of 24 averaged £136.33.bakewell record cull ewe.jpg

 In the OTM cattle section a new record was set when a British Blue cow from Andrew Dickinson, Bradbourne, sold at 203p/kg. The 880kg cow grossed £1786.40, with the 110 OTM cattle forward levelling at 110p/kg (Bagshaws).
