Tuesday sale of Holsteins at Lancaster saw a top call of 2400gns paid for Mark Atkinson and family’s heifer Wyredale Roy Gertrude which stood champion on the day. By Roylane Jordan she sold to Ted Fearon having calved a week ago and giving 26kg/day.

The same money was paid for another from the same vendors with a four week calved heifer by Talent and bred from eight generations of VG and Ex dams from the Emily family selling to A Wallbank, Longridge, giving 28kg a day.

Averages; three cows £1540, 13 heifers £1839, 1 bull £819 (Norton and Brooksbank).
