Only three Charolais females were on offer this afternoon, but that didn’t stop a good crowd gathering to see a top price of 4400gns for Thrunton Angel from the Campbell family. By Burradon Talisman out of the Maerdy Nero daughter Thrunton Rose, this December 2005 born female and her Solwayfirth Union heifer calf found a new home with Terry Coghill, Orkney.

Next in the money was J H Christie with Westcarse Velvet. Born October 2004, she is by the doonally New sire Kilcullen Ted and out of Westcarse Nicola. She sold at 3000gns with a Celtic Vichy heifer calf at foot.

At 1500gns Andrew Hornall sold Fallenich Becky, a Mortimers Tebay daughter out of the Oscar daughter Shoyswell Toyah.

Looks like I’m in charge of blogging male trade tomorrow and I reckon we’re in for a busy day – there’s been lots of talk this evening about some big money – we’ll see!
