A level’s day bidding produced a top price of 2,700gns at the Western Holstein Club’s monthly Focus Milk show and sale at Beeston.

Sale leader was the heifer Holmland Jotan Rose Red from Steve and Patricia Bell, Penrith.

A daughter of Jotan, she is bred out of Spring-Grove Storm Rose Ex92 – the g.daughter of the world famous Stookey Elm Park Blackrose Ex96.

 

Just shy of the top price at 2,600gns was another Holmland heifer. Holmland Picolo Rose Red is a daughter of La Presentation Picolo Red and is out of Holmland Ja-Bob Rose Red, a daughter of Spring-Grove Storm Rose.

Both sold to David Alderson, Nortghallerton, giving 38kg a day.

 

Judge Owain Harries from the Eola herd, Llanelli, awarded the championship to the heifer Oakshore Homestead A Gloria, from RM and RA Shepherd, Wirral.

She joins Harri Evan’s Ceinwen Herd, Anglesey at 2,400gns.

 

The Shepherd’s also took the reserve title with the Baxter daughter Oakshore Bacter J Cavalier. She made 2,300gns to Messrs Whitticase and Son, Oswestry.
