Man killed in Lincolnshire farm accident named

Police have named a man killed in an industrial accident on a farm in South Rauceby in Lincolnshire on Thursday (25 August).

Early indications are that 64-year-old Keith Greatrix, from the Sleaford area, was building a shed when a section of concrete fell on him.

The exact circumstances of the incident are being investigated by Lincolnshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

According to a police statement, the authorities were first alerted to the incident at 2pm on 25 August.

Detective Sergeant Jon Shield said: “The HSE has been informed of this incident and a joint investigation is under way.

“It’s common practice for us to work together at the early stages of an industrial accident of this nature.

“At this stage the investigation is focused on trying to find out exactly what happened and we will later complete a report for Her Majesty’s Coroner.”
