John Ulyatt has not cut anything since Thursday (Aug 18) night in Fosdyke, Lincolnshire, as moisture levels are too high.
He was pleased 24ha of Welford winter wheat on his own farm which was above average at 10t/ha. On contracting farms, he said results are good if the farmers have looked after the crop, so it depends on their input.
He has one field left on his farm, and 80ha on contract farms to cut. He expects Hagbergs and bushel weights to be affected by this rain.
He added: “Prices are really not exciting, but I’m very happy with my own yields.”
