Arable farmland hits market in Yorkshire and Essex
Two blocks of productive arable land are being sold in areas of the country where opportunities to buy are scarce.
Andrew Black from Savills says that 522-acre Danebury Manor Farm is “the one that the market has been asking for”.
Situated at Flixton on the Yorkshire Wolds, the arable operation which grows malting barley, wheat and oilseed rape is for sale at a guide price of £5.5m.

It has been farmed by two brothers since 2002, and while they are now relocating, Danebury Manor has been subject to investment and improvement, most recently with the rebuilding of a derelict four-bedroom farmhouse.
The Grade 2 and Grade 3 soils are nearly all ring fenced and could be put to potato production, while a range of well-maintained buildings includes 1,300t of grain storage capacity.
It is free from any environmental stewardship agreements and includes BPS entitlements. (Savills 01904 617 831)
In Essex, a single 68-acre field of Grade 2 and Grade 3 arable land is for sale near Tendring.
The land at Friths Farm was being sold subject to an Agricultural Holdings Act tenancy but is now being offered with vacant possession and BPS entitlements are included.
The soils are slowly permeable, seasonally waterlogged clay with areas of fine loam and silt, making them suitable for winter cereals or quality grassland.
The Frith Farm land has a guide price of £700,000. (Robinson & Hall 01206 931 506)
