Bayer fungicide Fandango batch recall

Fandango (prothioconazole + fluoxastrobin) with the batch number EM4L005940 is being recalled by manufacturer Bayer CropScience, after it discovered the batch could have crystallised since its manufacture in December 2008, and potentially could cause filter blockages.

The batch number is stencilled into the plastic on the shoulder of the bottle.

Bayer is asking that all product with that batch number is returned to it via the distributor, who supplied the product. Fresh supplies of Fandango are available to replace the returned product litre for litre, Bayer says.

On current estimates the lost volume within this affected batch will be available by the end of April 2009, Bayer says. No other formulation containing fluoxastrobin is affected.
