British Sugar to buy Indian food brand Pataks

British Sugar owner Associated British Foods has added to the grocery arm of its businesses by agreeing to buy Indian food brand Pataks for a reported £125m.
The business, currently owned by the founding Pathak family, manufactures and distributes Indian cooking sauces, curry pastes and chutney.
The sale will give ABF control over Patak’s brands and assets in all countries except India.
ABF, which already owns Kingsmill, oriental food brand Blue Dragon and popular clothing stores Primark, is expected to complete the sale by August.
