Cereals 2009: New diseases added to seed treatment label

Protection against fusarium and Microdochium nivale in both winter wheat and barley has been added to the label of ipconazole-based seed treatments.

Launched last year as Crusoe, all ipconazole seed treatments are now using the brand name Rancona, says manufacturer Chemtura.

Crusoe will now be known as Rancona 15ME, and in addition to controlling fusarium, it also controls seed and soil-borne bunt in wheat, and loose smut in barley. It also has activity against barley leaf stripe.
