New crop nutrition product combines amino acid and phosphate
© Tim Scrivener A new crop nutrition product that combines arginine – nature’s most nitrogen-rich amino acid – with phosphate, aims to create stronger root systems and more consistent yields.
Global agtech company Arevo has launched Arginex, which feeds crops directly with a slow-release nutrition source that reduces leaching.
The foliar spray has flexible use – applied to either seed, soil, or crop – with the aim of enhancing root hair length and root surface area.

Direct crop feed
Arginine carries a positive charge, so it binds to soil and reduces leaching and run-off risks, allowing the product to stay in the root zone where it is needed.
The arginine-phosphate complex breaks down slowly, feeding plants in perfect sync with their uptake
“Arevo is built on a molecular-level understanding of crop nutrition,” says Arevo chief executive Niklas Åström.
“Because it is non-microbial – non living – every batch of Arginex contains the exact same formula. The special formulation keeps the ingredients stable, meaning that we can offer consistent performance for growers.”
5 claimed benefits of Arginex crop nutrition
- Feeds crops directly: arginine is absorbed intact, supplying a carbon bonus, via root transporters
- Activates root biology: supports microbial partners for better water and nutrient uptake
- Stays where it’s needed: its positive charge binds to soil
- Releases nutrients predictably: slow, steady delivery of nitrogen and phosphorus over time
- Boosts overall soil health: produces resilient crops and sustainable harvests
