Disappointing Winner in Leics
Winner oilseed rape has been a little disappointing for Robert Tullis in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.
Fifty two hectares finished a bit down on last year at 3.5t/ha, with moisture ranging from 6 – 12%. He said the crops looked well with lots of pods, but didn’t seem to yield.
Mr Tullis was waiting for the rain to stop so he could start to cut Einstein winter wheat. He said it looked quite good but hoped it wouldn’t disappoint as much as the oilseed rape did. Last year’s Einstein yielded 10t/ha.
