Early season aphid control boosted by Cruiser OSR extension

Syngenta has been given approval to extend its Cruiser OSR seed treatment label to include the control of early season aphids.
“We are delighted to be able to give growers the confidence of a tool to fight against Turnip Yellow Virus (TuYV),” says Syngenta seed care manager, Stephen Beal.
Six Syngenta-funded independent trials conducted by Broom’s Barn on untreated crops ended up with 90% TuYV infection, and Cruiser OSR (thiamethoxam + fludioxinil + mefenoxam) was the most successful seed treatment in reducing the problem.
It outperformed treatments that included imidacloprid + betacyfluthrin and clothianidin + betacyfluthrin.
Broom’s Barn data have shown that TuYV infection can cut yields by as much as 25% on average.
