The first bit of Einstein cut at Littleton Farm, near Petworth, Sussex, averaged over 10t/ha (4t/acre), but was coming in at 22% moisture.

Mr Tupper had finished his Astrid and Castille oilseed rape, topping 5t/ha (2.2t/acre) in one field of Astrid, and averaging 4t/ha (1.8t/acre) across the 121ha (300 acres). “It did very well indeed.”

He now had 1134ha (2800 acres) of winter wheat and 364ha (900 acres) of spring barley to cut as part of the South Downs Combine Group. “We’ll take every opportunity to get on.”

 Syngenta

Duxford winter wheat is an HGCA Recommended List 2008/09 variety with very high UK treated yields and the top score for resistance to lodging with PGR. Combined with an unbeaten second wheat yield and a balanced disease resistance profile, this new variety from Syngenta Seeds will help UK growers rise to the challenge of producing more grain profitably.
