Mr Dean grows 140 ha (350 acres) of Pearl barley on his 1210ha (3,000 acre) farm in Fordingbridge, nr Salisbury, Wilts.

Yield levels are between 5t/ha (2.5 t/acre) and 7.4t/ha (3t/acre) so far with an average moisture level of about 15.5%. Nitrogen content is around 1.85%.

Mr Dean grows 400ha (1,000 acres) of wheat, 260 ha (650 acres) of spring barley, 240 ha (600 acres) of oilseed rape, peas and oats.
