New granular potato nematicide applicator launched

A new granular nematicide applicator was launched by Techneat Engineering at British Potato 2007 (28 & 29 November).

The MicroCast applicator features a new electronic rate control system which continuously adjusts the granule application rate in relation to ground speed, without the need for a land wheel. “There are fewer wearing parts, ensuring a very high level of accuracy, consistency and durability,” said Techneat’s Andrew Butcher.

It can be fitted with an automatic on-off switch, to start and stop application at the row ends and avoid waste.

The applicator also features a 30-litre capacity plastic tank, the firm’s Apcal cartridge metering system and can be fitted to a planter or bed tiller. Prices start at £1275.
