Plant nutrient specialist Phosyn has been awarded the 2006 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category.
Chairman Geoff Adams attributes the achievement to the firms export sales which accounted for £26m last year.
It is the third time that Phosyn, which is based in Pocklington, Yorkshire has won the award, reinforcing the company’s importance in the export business.
Dr Adams said: “Phosyn is truly a global enterprise exporting to around 60 countries including South America and Australasia.”
The award has come at a time when Phosyn is preparing to merge with Yara International. Dr Adams said the result would provide a complete package of technical services and products to satisfy all plant nutritional requirements.
Established in 1967, Phosyn also manufactures seed treatment products and offers analytical services to agriculture.
