PICTURES: FW’s pick of the Harvest Highlights pictures

It’s been one of the most difficult harvests in living memory, but for most it is at least now complete.
Farmers Weekly would like to thank everyone who submitted their pictures to the 2008 Harvest Highlights Gallery.
We received over 1700 pictures in total – all of which are available to view online on the Harvest Highlights Gallery.
They are a fascinating insight into the highs and lows of harvest time experienced by farmers across the country.
We’ve printed many of our favourites in Farmers Weekly magazine in recent weeks but a few have slipped through the net that we thought needed singling out. Here they are:
This extaordinary picture was taken by Anthea Kitching from Yorkshire. It shows a badger running away after the combine got too close to comfort for it.
This is another impressive picture from Anthea Kitching who takes pictures at Dawson Farms, Swainby, North Yorkshire.
This set of pictures has had a special effect applied with amazing results. They were taken by Gem Fox at Owton Grange Farm, Thopre Thewles, Hartlepool
Don’t forget if you’ve got pictures of cultivations then you can add them to the Cultivations Corner Picture Gallery.
Or if you’ve got any other pictures that you think stand out email them to us.
