Rain causing delays in East Anglia
Terry Godbold on the Norfolk/Suffolk border said harvest progress is “awful” due to wet weather, having cut only 40ha of 160ha of wheat.
But yields of Robigus and Gladiator are “pretty good” at 9.5t/ha which is slightly above last year, although he said the wet conditions are similar. Progress is on a par with last year although he expects to be behind if the rain continues.
Mr Godbold said quality has been good although rain will affect bushel weights. He is also worried the ground conditions will deteriorate soon.
