Rain prompts move to dual wheels
Rain had prevented Farmers Weekly’s Farmer Focus writer Richard Ward of Moreton-in-marsh, Gloucestershire from starting harvest.
Instead, he was busy fitting dual wheels to his combine to help overcome the wet soil conditions.
He was eager to harvest his oilseed rape and said he would bypass his winter barley crop. “I’m worried the rape will shell out.
“Loading the barley would make a mess of the field anyway,” he added.
