NEWLY RECOMMENDED spring feed barley Power offers growers good disease resistance, good straw length and high grain yield when fungicide treated, with few weaknesses and maturity similar to Riviera, according to marketing agent Advanta.

HIGH YIELD

UK fungicide-treated yield is 108% of controls, rising in the north east to 110% of controls. At 98%, the variety”s untreated yield is the highest available on the UK Recommended List.

Power is resistant to Rhynchosporium, which can affect grain size and is especially common in the damper, mainly feed barley growing regions, says Advanta.
