Wheat and rape off to a good start
Tom Hipwell of Hill farm, Bedfordshire has had no problems at the start of the harvest on his farm.
Winter wheat and oilseed rape combining both got off to a good start with Castille and Lioness rape achieving 3.5-4t/ha whilst Einstein wheat yielded 8.5-9.9t/ha.
Despite the showers, the rape has come in dryer than expected.
“It is early days yet but things are going generally well with no problems” concluded Mr Hipwell.
