Wheat now halfway
He has already harvested 140ha (350 acres) of wheat, consisting of Option, Savanna and Xi19 on his farm near Sarre, Kent.
Some crops suffered from lodging following heavy rainfall and strong winds, he said.
Yields are satisfactory, but he suspects quality is not going to be too good.
Mr Baxter avoided harvesting his crops above 20% moisture to avoid large drying bills.
He thinks he will be finished by the end of next week (w/e Sept 10).
