Hi Peak Feeds acquired by Devenish Nutrition

Belfast-based agri-technology company Devenish Nutrition has acquired the UK’s leading multi-species organic feed manufacturer Hi Peak Feeds, based in Derbyshire.

Devenish chief executive Patrick McLaughlin said the deal provided “a fantastic opportunity for both companies to showcase and expand their innovative nutritional and technical offering in the GB market”.

Devenish is involved in research and development, as well as manufacturing a range of premixes, pre-starters, starters and concentrates, together with specialty products for the intensive livestock sector.

It has six manufacturing and research facilities throughout Ireland and two sites in North America.

The two companies already have a trading relationship. Following the merger, Hi Peak Feeds director Ian Proctor and his sister Karen Hotchin will continue to develop the business, alongside Devenish Nutrition.

The Killamarsh site near Sheffield will see significant short- and medium-term investment, “to allow both companies to meet the opportunities within the respective specialist market segments”, said a statement.
