30% turnover increase for UF
UNITED FARMERS, the Edinburgh-based buying group, saw turnover increase by 30% to almost £33m in the year to Dec 31.
The business, which aims for a break-even position in its accounts each year, held costs at £181,151. The balance sheet stands at £94,105.
Rebates and discounts paid to the 21 member firms totalled £704,112, a rise of almost £100,000 on the year.
United Farmers chairman Colin Owen said: “With our turnover well up, it would seem that more farmers are recognising this fact and are using their local farmer-owned business for their main farm supplies.”
