The UK’s largest redistribution charity, FareShare is dedicated to fighting hunger and tackling food waste; working closely with the food industry to redistribute good-to-eat surplus food to vulnerable people across the UK.
FareShare make it as easy as possible to redistribute your product; accepting a wide range of food from freshly-grown produce to mislabelled packaged products.
By working with FareShare, you can reduce your waste while supporting local causes.
Find out the five ways in which FareShare can help your organisation:
- Identifying your surplus
If you’re unsure as to how or where your surplus occurs, one of FareShare’s dedicated Commercial Managers can help identify where good-to-eat surplus can happen and how it can be diverted
- Working with other organisations
FareShare has hundreds of partners, including storage, transport and food production organisations that can help support the movement and storage of your stock.
For example, by freezing your fresh, short expiry stock to enable it to last longer whilst being transported and stored
- Additional costs are covered
Thanks to the Surplus with Purpose Fund from FareShare, additional costs associated with diverting your good-to-eat surplus could be covered, including transport, labour and packaging, with up to £50,000 worth of funding available
- Making it as easy as possible
FareShare’s co-ordination team will work with you to make the process as smooth as possible from start to finish. You’ll work with a Commercial Manager who specialises in fresh produce and is able to advise on each and every step.
- Make a difference to your business commitments
Working with FareShare can contribute towards your business’ commitments under the WRAP/IGD Food Waste Reduction Roadmap, by identifying and redistributing good-to-eat food waste to thousands of charities across the UK.
Instead of sending surplus food to waste, landfill or animal feed, FareShare can divert good-to-eat food to one of their 23 Regional Centres, and redistribute it to charities who are working on the frontline to help support people facing food poverty.
Find out how your organisation could work towards its sustainability and waste reduction targets, whilst supporting those facing poverty, with up to £50,000 worth of funding available to help cover additional costs.
