Those are the questions we are seeking answers to in our annual Sentiment Survey as we test the waters of UK agriculture towards the end of yet another tumultuous year.

There is no doubt that it has been a bit of an “up horn, down corn” 12 months in the markets, while everyone has felt the pressure of yet more extreme weather and the usual farm policy roller coaster.
The financial pressures some sectors are facing have coincided with a mental health challenge for many farmers, while the prospect of inheritance tax looms large for everyone.
But there will inevitably have been upsides too, with some costs coming down, the introduction of fairer dealing regulations, successful shows and awards celebrations, and inspiring charity events.
