Aldi to increase farmgate milk price in June

Aldi will increase the price it pays its dairy farmer suppliers by between 1p and 1.25p/litre from 1 June.

The discount retailer refused to confirm how much this would bring the standard litre milk price up to, but Farmers Weekly understands that milk is sourced from Wiseman and Arla.

“We are working closely with our suppliers to support the livelihoods of UK dairy farmers. This involves continuously reviewing pricing to ensure it is fair, competitive and transparent,” said an Aldi spokesperson.

“The price increases are a positive step and we will continue to work with UK dairy farmers to ensure a fair deal for them as well as our shoppers.”
