Bare arable land offers chance to expand

Two bare land offerings are likely to be snapped up in the next few weeks by those looking expand and spread costs.
Mark Thomas, of Richardson Surveyors, expects to sell 214 acres at Woodwalton, Cambridgeshire, by informal tender by 20 August to give the buyer time to establish 2015 crops.
The Evesham 3 series Grade 3 land is in combinable crops and is included in an entry-level scheme until after harvest 2015. The land is available as a whole for £1.9m or in three lots.
“This provides an excellent opportunity to acquire manageable areas of productive arable land,” said Mr Thomas. (Richardson Surveyors 01733 321 800)
On the Kent/Sussex border, a single block of 249 acres of Grade 3 land is for sale at Hurst Green.
Of this, 206 acres are suited to arable cropping and grass, with the rest down to woods and ponds. Most of the land is south facing and might support vines.
Offers in the region of £1.8m are invited.
Single/basic payment entitlements and 700t of grain storage at Weald Granary are available by separate negotiation. (BTF Partnership 01233 740 077)
