BOCM Paul acquisition strengthens blends business

Feed compounder BOCM Pauls has expanded its blends business by purchasing 50% of blends firm Tremains.

The latest acquisition, based in Bridgwater, Somerset, also trades in straights ruminant feeds.

The firm will continue to operate under the Tremains name at the Bridgewater site.

Bill Mayne, BOCM Paul’s chief executive, said the acquisition was a “strategic move” to develop the firm’s standing in the blends market in the south of the country.

Ian Tremain, Tremains chief executive, said the sale would allow the business to expand using BOCM Paul’s experience in the raw materials, while retaining its independence.
