BOCM PAULS buyout gets approval

BOCM PAULS will formally become part of the Netherlands-based feed and commodities group ForFarmers on 11 July, following approval from the European Competition Authority and the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority.

ForFarmers presently operates mainly in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Bringing in BOCM PAULS will take the number of employees at ForFarmers to 2,500 and compound feed sales to 6.5m tonnes based on 2011 figures.

ForFarmers also sells 2.3m tonnes of straights and feed co-products.

Formed in 1992 following the merger of BOCM Silcock and Pauls Agriculture, BOCM PAULS manufactures, sells and distributes more than 2m tonnes of animal feed a year. It employs 1,000 staff across 18 locations.
