Elderly man airlifted to hospital after tractor incident

An elderly man was freed by firefighters after he became trapped between a tractor and a yard scraper.

The man was airlifted to hospital for treatment for his injuries following the incident on a farm in Henley, near Langport, Somerset, on Saturday afternoon (13 June).

Two fire crews were sent to the scene and firefighters worked to free the man, who had become wedged between the tractor and scraper.

Paramedics assessed him on the scene and treated him for his injuries, which although serious, were not life-threatening.

He was then airlifted to the nearest hospital via air ambulance.

Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue Service said: “Fire crews dismantled the yard scraper to free an elderly gentleman, who was treated at the scene by paramedics.”
