A recovery vehicle was brought in, with the police warning that the southbound carriageway would be closed for some time.

After pulling the lorry on to its wheels, police were left with 30t of sugar beet to move off the carriageway.

The operation was filmed by Norfolk & Suffolk’s Roads Policing & Firearms Operations Unit, which then posted the video on Twitter.

The road reopened, but one lane of the carriageway roundabout remained closed until Monday (16 November) because it was too slippery and dangerous.
