Commercial arable acreage for sale in Suffolk

Park Farm at Stanton near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk offers a decent commercial arable acreage on Grade 2 and 3 Ragdale soils.

The 445 acres are supported by substantial modern farm buildings including 2,500t of grain storage. There are also some traditional buildings and the £6m guide price values the land at about £10,000/acre.

Park Farm includes a listed period four-bedroom house, a large bungalow with annexe and an established mobile home unit. SPS entitlements are also included and the farm is in an ELS agreement.

“This is a substantial and well-equipped residential farm in a popular farming area,” said selling agent Peter Start of Savills. “There have been few units of this size for sale locally this year and we anticipate Park Farm will appeal to pent-up demand.

“Suffolk has had a fair number of farms offered for sale this year, the market remains strong with good interest from buyers, both farmers and investors, often from other parts of the UK and also abroad.

“We have seen a definite appetite for residential farms again, which in recent years had been affected by the wider economic recession. Bare land holdings are trading well and sales we are agreeing in the county this year have all exceeded £10,000/acre, often by some margin, exceeding guide prices and expectations.”
