Conversion courses
WITH CAP reform separating subsidy from production, conversion to organic farming may be a good option for some Scottish farms, reckons SAC.
To help producers understand the physical and financial implications of converting to organic and to help plan a conversion, SAC plans to run a series of courses from Feb 21-24 2005 in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Perth.
Courses are aimed at producers considering organic conversion, or those who have recently started the conversion process. They will also focus on practical implications of organic standards. Courses run from 10am to 4pm and cost 45 (01224 711 072; email d.younie@ ab.sac.ac.uk).
