Dairy Crest announces cheese price increase

Dairy Crest is set to increase the price it pays to dairy farmers on its Davidstow and Hartington cheese manufacturing contracts.
From 1 November, the dairy will up its manufacturing milk price by 0.7p/litre, bringing an increase from 1 July to 6.7p/litre for Davidstow and 7.2p/litre for Hartington.
Arthur Reeves, Dairy Crest’s milk purchasing director, said: “This latest increase is a result of our commitment to pay our suppliers a fair and competitive price for their milk.”
Supplier group Dairy Crest Direct chairman, Ian Sharman, said the increase was good news which would be welcomed by all DCD members.
