DEAL FOR TOWTHORPE MAY BE SOON

CARTER JONAS says there has been renewed interest in Towthorpe Manor Farm, near Driffield, East Yorks, and a deal at about the original ÂŁ4.25m guide price, either for the whole or in lots, could be in the offing soon.

Andrew Fallows of the firms York office said the 1030-acre predominantly arable unit, which also has good sporting potential and includes six cottages, was launched just as the full extent of this year’s disappointing harvest was becoming apparent.

This may have explained the initial lack of acceptable offers.

But Mr Fallows said the sale was now back on track and the vendor was also prepared to pass on any entitlement to the historic single farm payment as part of the deal.
