Durlam daughter proves popular at Holstein sale

A YEARLING daughter of Regancrest Elton Durham pulled the bids from a big crowd at the Autumn Opportunity Holstein sale at Carlisle and topped the day at 5000gns.

The sale comprised a major consignment from Cumbria breeder John Hodgson’s Holmeden herd along with stock from the Tallent, Kepulloch and Moet herds.

Holmeden Outside August, a February-born heifer calf out of a 12,600kg Mandel dam, realised 2500gns to Brian Yates, Castle Douglas, while Messrs Dent added Moet Tanker Martha to their Greengill herd at Penrith. This Art-Acres Tanker daughter was giving 50kg on the day and is in-calf to Picston Shottle.
