Enter our competition and see if your picture is a winner

Reckon you can give the pros a run for their money when it comes to taking a photograph? Well, here’s your chance to win a cash prize and see your photos published in Farmers Weekly.

Yes, we’re holding another photography competition, so dig out your best shots – or take some specially – and send them to us.

There are six categories, with £100 on offer for the best picture submitted in each. The categories are:

• Arable scenes

• Livestock scenes

• Humour

• Children

• General farm activities

• Nature

How do you get the pictures to us:

1. Email them

Email them to fwphotocomp@rbi.co.uk

If you are entering pictures for more than one category, you should send a separate email with the picture(s) in each of the categories you are entering.

Please write in the subject field of every email the category of the picture(s) attached plus your surname.

Then, in the body of the email, be sure to include your full name, address and a daytime phone number.

Digital pictures need to be a reasonably-sized, so each picture should be bigger than 200KB (no one photo should be larger than 3MB, however).

2 Upload them to our website

Upload them direct to our website at www.fwi.co.uk/photocomp2008

There are instructions on the web page how to put them on the site.

3 Post them

You can send them to Photography Competition, Farmers Weekly, Quadrant House, The Quadrant, Sutton, Surrey, SM2 5AS. Please write the category entered and your name, address and phone number on the back of every photo you send. Unfortunately, we’re unable to return these, so please send copies rather than originals.

A panel of judges – including FW’s chief photographer Jonathan Page – will look at every picture submitted. The winning photos in each category, and a selection of the best ones, will be published in Farmers Weekly and on our website over the Christmas period.

We look forward to seeing all your super shots. So, whether you’re an occasional snapper, or someone who takes photography a bit more seriously, why not give it a go?

This competition is not open to professional photographers, and any one person can only enter a maximum of six images for the competition. FW may publish the winning and commended photos more than once.

Good luck.
