Farmers Weekly Awards 2007-You could be farming’s finest

This year’s awards will build upon the success we have achieved already to showcase the very best of British farming, rural enterprise and countryside management.

From this week, the search begins to identify the best farmers who show business acumen, technical achievement, environmental and social responsibility, vision, innovation and achievement.

We want to celebrate the men and women who combine top level business skills, with environmental management and contribution to their local communities This year’s awards feature three new categories (see opposite) and are supported by a host of new sponsors. The 2007 Awards will culminate in a gala evening on 31 October in the Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House Hotel with more than 900 top guests including award winners, finalists, industry leaders and key opinion formers.

“Great Opportunity”

“The 2007 Farmers Weekly Awards are a great opportunity for British farming,” said FW editor Jane King.

“It’s a perfect way to highlight the professionalism and expertise of Britain’s best farmers and rural entrepreneurs as they gear up to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.”

NFU president Peter Kendall agreed: “The awards encourage the qualities the industry needs most in the 21st century – innovation, enterprise and a relentless customer focus they are playing a key role in rebuilding the industry’s confidence and above all they are a celebration of British farming’s greatest asset: Our people.”

So if you, or someone you know, merits an award, why not nominate him or her for one of farming’s most prestigious titles? Not only will it help to promote the very best of British farming expertise, it could provide powerful business benefits as last year’s winners confirm.
