First Milk set to hold member meetings

First Milk producers are being invited to meetings with board members over the next few days.

Written invitations to the member-only events were being sent, said a spokesman, with the meetings starting in west Wales on Thursday when chairman Jim Paice MP and vice-chairman and farmer Nigel Evans will answer members’ questions.

The Midlands will host a meeting on Friday, with further venues and dates being organised for next week in the north of England and in Scotland. First Milk farmer board members will be at all the meetings.

Mr Evans has recorded a question and answer video explaining the actions the co-op announced last week to delay payment for members’ milk by two weeks, to increase by 1.5p/litre the capital investment levy it takes from members and to restore 1.1p/litre of a previously announced price-cut for February.
