FW Award winner to run marathon

The man named Farmer of the Year at the 2008 Farmers Weekly Awards likes a challenge, but he’ll be tackling a rather different one from normal soon – running the London Marathon.

Adrian Ivory, who also collected the coveted Massey-Ferguson sponsored Young Farmer of the Year title at the Awards, will be running the 26-mile London course on 26 April a bid to raise cash for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.

The Scottish beef and arable producer “mentioned in a moment of madness” he’d enter the event if he was an awards winner – so, true to his word, has now been training hard for the feat of endurance, running around the Perthshire countryside.

He’s already raised more than his target of ÂŁ3000 through donations from business sponsorship, his own money and contributions from family – so any more will be a bonus. You can sponsor him online at www.justgiving.com/adrianivory
