Grain price jumps on French harvest forecast

New crop grain futures markets jumped by up to £10.50/t on Wednesday (18 May) on the back of harvest forecasts by French analyst Agritel, which forecast the French wheat crop to drop to 31.7m tonnes.

This is 11.5% lower than last year and a direct result of the past three months’ dry weather.

London November feed wheat futures were up £7.50/t to £188/t delivered as of close of play on Wednesday (18 May).
