Harper to host big name comedy gala

A host of top British comedians will be taking part in a charity comedy event at Harper Adams University College.

The star-studded line-up for Comedy in the Country on May 22 includes Jimmy Carr, Russell Kane, Rufus Hound and Jack Whitehall, with acts set to do a half-hour performance each.

Proceeds will go towards to NSPCC, Severn Hospice, Self Help Africa, Help for Heroes and FACE charities.

Getting such big names to perform at the Shropshire college is a real coup, according to the president of the Students’ Union, 23-year-old Pete Dodd, who says the performances represent the culmination of 10 months of hard work.

The show starts at 5.30pm and tickets cost £40-£45.
