Kent has seen a good deal of activity in recent weeks and now offers another large mainly arable Farm Business Tenancy.
Available from 16 September 2012, the land at Cheesemans Green forms part of the Church Commissioners Ashford holding and is being offered to let as a whole or in two lots.
The 308ha (760-acre) block lies to the south-east of Ashford, Kent, surrounding Cheesemans Green and the village of Mersham.
There is 576 acres of arable land, 153 acres of pasture and 27 acres of woodland. Classified predominantly as grade 3, soils are largely made up of slightly acid but base-rich loamy and clayey soils. A small amount of the land is wet loamy soil.
The land at Cheesemans Green is available to let in two lots or as a whole through a five-year Farm Buasiness Tenancy agreement. However, part of the first lot, Bilham Farm, is to be let on a two-year FBT due to development work in the area.
There is an Entry Level Stewardship agreement in place, which the new tenant will be required to continue until July 2015. The land is let without entitlements but these may be available from the previous tenant by separate negotiation.
