Lancaster Sees top Prices for Red Rose Holsteins
THE RED Rose sale of Holsteins held at Lancaster recently saw two of this centre”s staunchest supporters share the day”s top price of 1400gns.
Drinkall Bros, who farm hill land on the Abbeystead Estate in Lancs, produced another stylish heifer from their Pennine herd. Bred from the successful Crocus family, this October-calver was by Comestar Leader and out of a Boulet Charles dam with a sire list including Pittendreich Baron and Hanoverhill Roxy. Buyers were J and C Robson of Garstang, Lancs.
The weeton herd of John and Doreen Loftus shared the 1400gns call for Weeton Jordan Molly. This heifer is by Roylane Jordan and out of a Shoremar Mason dam, with Weeton Raider Molly as second dam. Averages: Cows ÂŁ1060 and heifers ÂŁ1013 (Norton and Brooksbank with Lancaster Auction Mart).
