Look north for farms on the market this week

Several mixed and stock farms in Scotland and northern England have come to the market this week.
The largest is 277-acre Dunduff Farm, near Saline village, Fife, and is a well-equipped livestock unit set in rolling countryside.
It has a three-bedroom bungalow and has been run mainly as a livestock farm with 45 suckler cows and 280 ewes. It includes a large modern cattle shed, traditional workshop and feed store.
The land varies between Grade 3 and Grades 5 and 6 and includes productive silage ground, grazing land split into two blocks and a small hill loch.

Also in Scotland is arable and stock farm South Burreldales, near Banff, Aberdeenshire. The farm has about 146 acres of Grade 3 land, comprising arable and grassland.
The farm has a five-bedroom traditional farmhouse, a steel-portal framed dutch barn, a general store and two cattle yards.

Midburn Farm, Lauder, Berwickshire, offers productive arable land and a well-equipped steading with options for livestock.
With about 160 acres of Grade 3 and 4 land suitable for cereals and other crops, some of the farmland has been rented out, including for swede production.
The farm has nine store sheds, a 1,980sq m grain store, three cattle sheds and a former pig unit.

Further south in Carlisle lies Garth Head Farm, Brampton, on the market at a guide price of ÂŁ1m for the whole or in two lots.
Garth Head is a 240-acre upland stock farm with a three-bedroom farmhouse and both modern and traditional farm buildings. The land includes about 44 acres of quality grazing, about 44 acres of mowing land, permanent pasture, upland grazing and woodland.

Over in Northumberland, Breckon Hill Farm has come to the market near Hexham, at a guide price of ÂŁ1.75m including SPS entitlements.
The 210-acre livestock unit has an 18th-century Grade II listed farmhouse, a cottage, three dutch barns, two cattle yards, a steel-portal framed hay store, machinery lean-to and three stone barns.
The land is Grade 3 with fine loamy over clayey soils and all is permanent pasture. The farm is entered into an ELS scheme and is currently contract farmed. (Smiths Gore 01434 632 404).
