Assortment of quality holdings on offer across Britain

A mix of quality farms has recently been launched across Scotland, England and Wales.

The land and property market is in full flow since the relaxation of lockdown restrictions, with demand as high as ever.

The chancellor’s decision to introduce a stamp duty holiday in England and Northern Ireland on the first £500,000 of property sales could encourage further launches, to allow buyers to take advantage of the relief, say agents.

Here is a selection of the current opportunities in the UK farmland market.

Welsh offering

Coomb Farm, in Llangynog, Carmarthen, is on the market with Savills with a guide price of £15m.

The dairy farm includes 950 acres, modern livestock buildings including a 40-point rotary parlour and housing with 1,350 cubicles, a five-bedroom house and several additional residential properties.

It also has a biomass boiler and a 500kW AD plant, which generates income of about £700,000 a year.

Former council unit

Crescent Farm in Flintshire, north Wales, has 78 acres of pasture land and woodland, a three-bedroom house and a range of agricultural buildings.

The former Flintshire County Council holding is for sale by informal tender, available as a whole guided at £750,000 or in two lots.

Tenders must be submitted to Atchams Chartered Surveyors by 19 August.

Scottish holding

Knight Frank has launched the 267-acre Wester Aldie Farm in Rumbling Bridge, Kinross, for offers in excess of £1.35m.

The mixed farming unit includes a four-bedroom house, a building plot with consent to build a five-bedroom house, and a range of buildings.

Grassland farm

In Kingsland, Herefordshire, McCartneys is selling a 53-acre grassland holding as a whole or in four lots.

New House Farm comes with a four-bedroom house, several farm buildings and traditional orchards, guided at £825,000 to £925,000.

Planning opportunity

Auchensalt Farm near Thornhill, Stirlingshire, is on the market with Galbraith for offers over £680,000.

Available as a whole or in two lots, the holding includes 140 acres of Grade 3.2 land, a three-bedroom house and agricultural buildings.

Planning consent has been granted for the demolition of the house and construction of a new five-bedroom home.
