Grassland market remains lively as autumn approaches
High levels of demand and buoyant trade are encouraging new properties to be launched as the market moves away from what was traditionally a very seasonal approach.
There is a wide offering of small livestock farms coming up for sale, while larger farms remain in short supply.

Here’s a selection of what’s on the market across the UK:
Scottish farm
Barnkin Of Craigs Farm, near Dumfries, is on the market with Bidwells as a whole or in five lots, for offers in excess of £1.31m. The 218-acre mixed arable and livestock holding comes with a five-bedroom house and traditional farm buildings.
Pig and poultry unit
Savills has launched Cotswold Farm in Howsham, north Lincolnshire, with a guide price of £350,000. The unit has seven acres and a number of former pig and poultry buildings with mechanical ventilation and a slurry lagoon.
Smallholding
Lodge Farm in Raunds, Northamptonshire, is being sold by Brown & Co, guided at £1.5m. The 54-acre plot includes two dwellings, pastureland and a range of traditional and modern agricultural buildings.
Country house with land
Priors Lodge in Lydney, Gloucestershire, is a six-bedroom house surrounded by 81 acres of pasture and woodland. The property is available as a whole or in three lots and is being sold by Bruton Knowles with a guide of £2.25m.
Plot of land
Strutt & Parker is selling a 71-acre block of productive pastureland near Wing, Rutland. The land has a mains water supply and is split into 10 fields. It is available as a whole with a guide price of £500,000.
Diversification potential
Newburn Farm in Kington, Herefordshire, has a six-bedroom house, five cottages, buildings and 29 acres. It is being sold by John Amos & Co and has a £2m guide price. There is potential for rental income from the cottages and an equine unit.
